Synopsis
After the death of her mother Marianne, a young cellist discovers that her father had a mistress. In order to find her, she casts aside her boyfriend Étienne. The mistress is a pianist named Béatrice. Béatrice and Marianne strike up a friendship while reminiscing about the past. They remember <a href="/name/nm0681191/">Édith Piaf</a>'s song : "Hymne à l'amour" and Marianne reconnects with her nanny Ghislaine who was a funny companion when she was young.
Review
Toutes ces belles promesses is a very charming movie. It's the story of
Marianne. She visits her family"s home, and remembers of her childhood.
Jeanne Balibar who is a very good french actress gives to this film
greats qualities. This movie is a TV's movie but it 's an excellent
work a charming small opera. In the very good stories there is always a
hidden flower or jewel which reveal the talent of the Author. In this
movie I found this hidden jewel it is the scene of Ghislaine's dance
(Valérie Crunchant). I appreciate a lot this exquisite remembrance of
childhood. Valérie Crunchant appears to be a very sensitive actress,
probably a new french talent. I hope we will see her again in other
movies.
